Joey Holder is an artist interested in the structures and hierarchies of the technological and natural world and how these systems are constantly abstracted. Mixing elements of biology, nanotechnology and natural history against computer program interfaces, screen savers and measuring devices, she sees no object or substance in any fixed state or with any permanent definition, identity or order; everything is transforming and morphing into something else; everything is a mutant and a hybrid. Holder was recently shortlisted for the Converse/Dazed Emerging Artist Award 2013; included in Vestige - The Future is Here, Design Museum, London and Multinatural Histories, Harvard Museum of Natural History, Massachusetts, USA. Holder is currently exhibiting at D I G in London www.digspace.co.uk. Upcoming projects include 'FOAM' a sound commission that will tour the UK in 2014 and a solo show planned for September 2014 with The Royal Standard as part of Liverpool Biennial's endorsed programme.
