I make most of my work by coiling and hand-building, using my fingers. I like to mix clays to create contrasts of texture and finish such as the jewel-like sheen of celadon glaze against a black matt body.

Starting points may be the sudden bloom of fungi in the autumn drizzle; a sheep's jaw found by my dog on the Quantocks; or a reindeer's vertebra brought back from Iceland.

In 2016, there will be several exhibitions of my work in conjunction with Meirion Harries Photography.
