Sanesi was brought up in an ultra-catholic family which lead him to question the values of society and religion, whilst facing the discoveries of his own identity and sexuality. The works reflect these dichotomies; in constant search for answers and meaning. The work explores the sometimes painful but oftentimes joyful experience of LGBTQI+ life in London. The artist uses different iconographic symbols in order to guide you through the artist’s feelings without necessarily revealing his true intention.
