Michalina Sablik and Aleksandra Liput work together as an independent curatorial duo called DZIDY since 2018. Based in Warsaw, they organise underground, pop-up exhibitions featuring emerging Polish and international artists, which aim to express an independent and fresh perspective on contemporary themes, such as politics, gender issues, neotribalism, post-internet. The duo experiments with different exhibition formats, showcasing novel practices and discourses in contemporary art, as well as working site-specifically in unexpected locations like abandoned commercial premises and post-industrial spaces. They collaborate closely with artists during studio visits, often commissioning artworks specifically for their exhibitions. Michalina Sablik - curator, art writer, researcher. She graduated with a degree in history of art from Warsaw University and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She studied postcolonial and gender studies at Utrecht University (the Netherlands).
