Carol's work has been exhibited with The Royal Society of British Artists,The Royal West of England Academy and The Society Of women Artists.Carol has also previously been shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize. She paints in a style that has been described as painterly yet realistic,both colourful and descriptive. Her portraits often incorporate personal objects and references requested by the sitter,creating a collage of thoughts,a narrative that reveals the sitters very self.Carol’s theatrical work features actors from the London stage set in their dressing rooms.These portraits capture actors in the process of transition from self to character revealing actor,character and production in one painting.They are a study of the artistry of character acting, a privileged glimpse into a private moment. Carol's work is a mixture of commissioned and self generated projects. She is an established teacher of portrait painting and offers classes from her studio at Collage Artspace Three in North London.
