Alexandra Tommasini is an art historian based in London. She currently works for Bridget Riley cataloguing and researching the artist’s extensive body of work. Alexandra received a B.A. (2002) in Art History an Italian from UCLA, an M.A. (2005) from University of Exeter and a PhD (2014) from the Courtauld Institute of Art. Alexandra’s research interests include post-war British art and the history and theory of photography, with a focus on the work of Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico. Her work has been published in Immediations, Visual Studies, and Modern Italy and she has presented widely at academic conferences, gallery talks and public events. Recently in 2016 she co-organised the seminar A Photographer’s Sense of Space: Looking at the Work of Gabriele Basilico at the University of Westminster, London. Alexandra is co-convener of Ph: The Photography Research Network.
