The arts curator and sound artist Art Clay was born in New York and lives in Basel Switzerland. As an artist, he has appeared at international festivals, on radio and television in Europe, Asia & North America: as a curator, he has set up shows at divers art venues from top museums to artist run spaces and has received support from a multitude of arts councils from around the world. Prizes have been awarded to him for music composition, performance, theatre, new media art, curation, as well as software design. He is the initiator and Artistic Director of the 'Digital Art Weeks' International, a festival founded on the ETH that serves as platform for trans-disciplinary research and education for the arts, the sciences, and culture. With strong support of the Swiss Arts Council , he recently co-founded together with Monika Rut, the festival “Virtuale Switzerland”, the world’s first bienalle for virtual arts, exploring arts using augmented reality, digital heritage and urban gaming. For the last ten years, he has taught media and interactive arts at various Art Schools and Universities in Europe, North America, and Asia including the University of the Arts in Zurich. Presently he Guest Professor at Sogang University, Seoul
