Workshop East is a multidisciplinary space for making. We provide high quality facilities for designer-makers craftspeople and artists working in a range of materials including wood, stone and clay.
Our resident makers have their own dedicated space, with access to shared tools, materials, machinery and skills. We think this promotes learning, information sharing, collaboration, support, and ideas.
Workshop East is a Community Interest Company, which means the income generated from renting access to our machinery and work space is funnelled back into maintaining the workshop, developing community links, exhibitions, residencies and opportunities for makers.
We are part of an informal group of makerspaces across the city, and have been involved in extensive research into this topic [link to news/research page?], all of which contributes to the development opportunities and networks available to our resident makers.
