Transition Gallery is a not-for-profit, contemporary art organisation run by practicing artists, Cathy Lomax (founder), Alli Sharma and Alex Michon. The aim of the gallery is to bring new art to new audiences, which involves organising exhibitions, talks, screenings, workshops and publishing books and magazines.

Transition opened in 2002 in Hackney, East London. In 2018 the latest incarnation of Transition Gallery opened at 110a Lauriston Road, near Victoria Park, London E9. With its fresh focus, each exhibition at Transition Two Gallery features two artists in dialogue, in collaboration or in opposition.

A programme of regular exhibitions at the gallery usually combines artists at the beginning of their careers alongside the more established and engages a wide range of media. An ethos of DIY permeates gallery life with a fearless drive to try things out. This approach makes for a vibrant environment of experimentation.
