William Morris, Victorian designer and craftsman, novelist and poet, printer, socialist and environmentalist lived with his family at Kelmscott House from 1878 until his death in 1896. Today the main house is still a privately owned home, while the basement rooms and the Coach House form the headquarters of The William Morris Society and the museum.

The William Morris Society was founded in 1955 to make Morris’s life, work and ideas better known. There are lots of opportunities to get involved with the Society and learn more about the life and work of Morris and his circle. Our events, talks and workshops are open to all. We have a Morris reference library and unique Collection of works by and relating to Morris.
