The SCIN Gallery is an Architectural and Interior Material sourcing library for architects and designers within the confines of an exciting and inspirational 4-floor gallery showcasing the best of the world's innovative materials that are meant to be touched and handled.
Newly, opened and based in the creative design district of Clerkenwell, London, The SCIN Gallery independently curates and sources the very best of design materials ranging from construction materials such as illuminate concrete to bespoke and fine pieces of Neri Oxman's Monoque surfaces.
The SCIN Gallery provides a relaxed environment for architects and designers to immerse themselves within a material landscape; finding new materials by emerging artists.
The SCIN Gallery is also a premium Event Venue, available to be hired for various events ranging from exhibition and parties to conferences and seminars. RSVP email@example.com for more details for hiring this beautiful space in the Centre of London.
Established in 2004 SCIN was created by designers Annabelle Filer and Graham Cox, both of whom trained as Architects. The material insight they gained through their experience in Design lead them to focus purely on material research. Eight years ago they decided to share their material information and SCIN was launched.
As a result SCIN rapidly gained a reputation as the UK sourcing and advisory company for materials. Annabelle Filer is a regular monthly contributor to FX Design and Grand Designs Magazines bringing materials to the readers and has judged a number of surface design awards. She advises and designs new surfaces and along with other SCIN colleagues lectures to Schools of Architecture and Design, Architects and Designers.
SCIN were themselves finalists in Surface Design Award 2005 and have published five Interior Design Toolkits, based upon a collection of materials, (see collections) including collaborations with Elle Decoration and House of Fraser

Her facination of architectural materials has led to develop an independant sourcing service for designers and architects. Essentially, Annabelle loves materials and she knows what materials architects are looking for but are yet to find. You can constantly find her at the gallery working among the materials she has personally sourced.
The members of SCIN, see potential in fostering a new and interconnected community. The SCIN Gallery hopes to be the base of a new society for London's creatives. Communicate with us on Facebook and look out for news, interesting articles, and new Exhibitions that are based on the connection of materials.
