The Millinery Works

This former Victorian hat factory is packed with Arts and Crafts and Aesthetic Movement furniture and objects from Gothic Reform to the Cotswold School, which has a devoted following. They also deal in art. 

There are regular selling shows of contemporary painting and and an annual summer Modern & Contemporary Art exhibition during July and August.

Specialised design pieces that you wouldn’t be surprised to see in the V&A are by top-drawer makers such as Godwin, Dresser, Rennie Mackintosh and ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Heal’s bedroom furniture is often in stock and smaller items such as Liberty & Co dressing-table sets and Glasgow Style ceramics. 

The gallery is situated in the De Beauvoir Town area on the borders of Hackney and Islington.
