The Ken Stradling Collection

Ken has been actively involved since 1948 in the constantly changing world of design and domestic taste in his role as a buyer, manager and director of the Bristol Guild of Applied Art. His now superb collection of 20th  and 21st  century design began both as a pastime and a necessity – a collation of the buying choices he was making both for the Bristol Guild and a newly-acquired family home he shared with his wife, Betty.

Ken is deeply committed to sharing his love of design. In 2007 he created a charitable trust and gave the Collection a permanent home at 48 Park Row. Today, the Ken Stradling Collection Trust exists to care for the Collection and make it available to everyone to study and enjoy.

We are grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Gane Trust whose generous support has enabled us to open regularly to the public on Wednesdays.
