Bower: noun. i. A pleasant shady place under trees. ii. A woman’s private room. iii. An attractive dwelling or retreat.
The Bower is a collaborative project between Louisa Bailey and Joyce Cronin. The Bower organises exhibitions and events and produce books with artists and writers by Publication Studio London on site in a former park WC and park keeper's hut which also houses a new cafe.
The Bower's artistic programme responds to the context of this unique property and its locality, and is driven by an interest in sociopolitical and feminist practice.
