The Temporary Gallery is a non-profit initiative, instigated by the "Pädagogische Werkstatt" Berlin-Neukölln. Since 2007, the latter sets out to improve the educational opportunities of children and adolescents of the neighbourhood with a long-term perspective in mind.

The Temporary Gallery is situated on Campus Rütli in Berlin-Neukölln and opens its doors each spring, with the goal to bring together contemporary art and art education. Taking up the recent developments and changes in the Berlin "Reuterkiez" and on Campus Rütli, the exhibition series runs under the title TRANSFORMATION. In collaboration with educators, the project explores different possibilities of artists working with children and adolescents from local educational institutions. The outcome of the creative workshops is presented in unique and always changing ways to the public.

Exhibitions and accompanying programs are made possible by private donations. Responsible for the concept are Ida Schildhauer (initiator) and Silvia Ploner (curator).
