Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (TBG+S) is an artists community in the heart of Dublin city centre. Founded in 1983, the building houses thirty artists’ studios in which professional visual artists make their work.  Member artists at TBG+S work in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and photography and the work made in studios at TBG+S goes on to be exhibited around the country and internationally.

At the TBG+S gallery, temporary exhibitions are presented regularly and represent a cross section of contemporary Irish and international visual arts practice.  The gallery is open five days a week and admission is free.

The extensive programme of Talks +Events invites further engagement with the work that takes place in the building, and is aimed at anyone interested in developing their knowledge of visual art.  The programme includes studio and gallery tours, lectures, critical discussions, music events, live art events and performances, readings and reading groups, workshops and film screenings for all types of audiences. Information about upcoming talks and events and booking links can be found on the TBG+S website www.templebargallery.com.

A parallel education programme works with primary and secondary school pupils in Dublin city.

TBG+S is funded through annual funding from the Arts Council of Ireland and Dublin City Council.

Framed around three Artistic Policy areas, ‘Create, Exhibit and Engage’, our second Strategic Plan (2016-2019), takes account of the unique combination of artists’ studios and public gallery which has given a distinct expression to how TBG+S has developed.
