SWIMMING POOL is a space for art in Sofia. We develop our programme through international collaborations and exchange of ideas. Our main objective is to strengthen the dialogue between the local and international art scenes and fostering awareness of the realities of a globalized world.
SWIMMING POOL will initially host two exhibitions in a year and offer short-term residences to artists, curators and researchers from the beginning of 2016.
We warmly welcome you – art professionals and students as well as curious individuals – to join us and share our interest in contemporary artistic practices. The premises of SWIMMING POOL are located on a rooftop in the city center of Sofia. Built in 1939, they consist of several rooms and terraces with a swimming pool. The empty, tiled pool is available as a blue cube for artistic and curatorial projects as well as readings, screenings and performances.
The non-profit organisation SWIMMING POOL was founded in September 2014 by Viktoria Draganova.
