Slag Gallery was inaugurated in June 2008 in Chelsea, NY, and hosted over 2000 sq ft of exhibition space. In 2012 the gallery moved to Bushwick, the up and coming arts area of New York.

Since opening, Slag Gallery has embarked on the adventure of discovering and presenting aesthetically different artists in all media, featuring work that is both conceptually challenging and visually engaging.

The gallery represents a group of American and International emerging artists, with an intent to facilitate the long-term development of their careers, liaising with international galleries, curators, institutions, museums and collectors. Since 2008, Slag Gallery has successfully introduced select Romanian artists and projects to the NY public, while simultaneously presenting American and other International artists to the contemporary art community. Over the last 6 years, Slag Gallery has been working to cultivate durable relationships with galleries worldwide, promoting artistic exchange and project collaboration.

The artists of Slag Gallery have been included in a number of internationally recognized exhibitions, such as the Venice Biennale (2001), the Istanbul Biennale (2011), Prague Biennial (2011), and Gwangju Biennial (2014), along with exhibitions at museums and institutions such as PS1 in New York; The Drawing Center, NY; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Marina Abramovici Institute, San Francisco; Kunsthalle Budapest (Mucsarnok); MODEM Modern and Contemporary Art Center, Debrecen; National Museum of Contemporary Art, Bucharest; MKM Museum Kuppersmühle, Duisburg ; Kultur Fabrik, Luxembourg; Brukental Museum, Sibiu; The Museum of New Art, Detroit; NJMoCA; Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Israel; Queens Museum of Art, NY; Birmingham Museum of Art: Boulder MoCA; and the Islip Museum of Art, NY.
