RED offer a strategic partnership role to landlords, organisations and individuals that understand and embrace the risks and rewards inherent within renewed, short term leasing that reflects 21st Century transient business models.
RED has successfully pioneered this business model, underpinned by a cultural guardianship approach, in line with their vision of an expansive artistic culture and belief in Communitas. As part of this ethos they continuously consult and work with the local community to ensure working practices are aligned to community needs. Consequently, the spaces they manage are multipurpose, fluid and responsive.
For the past 56years at Rivington Street, RED has managed 12,000 square foot housing creative office space in partnership with RED Quarters; retail space currently including a book shop Material and 84; artists in residence; a continually rotating calendar of events including: art exhibitions, live arts, music and charity events, literary soirees, symposiums, conferences and film screenings. The 20.000 sq. ft. unique, hireable outdoor events space, where RED pioneered UK’s first night time street food market, has for the past two years seen RED partner with Background Bars.
In addition to being the home to the Our History Archive, RED has collaborated with a wide array of artists, art collectives and organisations including: Adam Dant, Bo Ningen, Coda, East End Film Festival, Gavin Turk, Gap, Tresor (Berlin), House of Fairy Tales, i-D magazine, Kid Koala, Le Gun, Noriko Okaku, Onedotzero, Redsonic, St. Monica’s Primary School, Soul Clap, Soundcloud, Three Faiths Forum, Camberwell and Kingston Colleges of Art, and Veterans for Peace.
