Poet in the City presents "Wallace Stevens", an evening to celebrate the work of such an iconic poet, insurance broker and philospher of the imagination.

Widely held as one of the most important literary figures in America, Stevens was the ultimate master-craftsman, combining rigorous technique with a deep exploration of the nature of poetry.

In this special event exploring his life and work, hear live readings of classics like The Emperor of Ice Cream and The Man with the Blue Guitar, in celebration of the man critic Harold Bloom called ‘the best and most representative American poet of our time’.

British artist and President of the Royal Academy of the arts, Christopher Le Brun, will be speaking at the event giving an insightful talk on Wallace's work. Le Brun will be joined by Goldsmiths Prize winner, Ali Smith and Sarah Churchwell and Lachlan McKinnon.

The event will take place at Kings Place on Monday 17th November at 7pm.

Tickets can be purchased via Kings Place www.kingsplace.co.uk
