Welcome to Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery. The house was formerly the country home of Sir John Soane, one of the most influential architects in British history. Today, as well as being a historic house where visitors can enjoy the restored interiors and facades that Soane designed, it is also an arts venue and gallery, exhibiting a selection of the most exciting artwork being made today including the likes of Anish Kapoor, Rana Begum, Alison Watt and Grayson Perry.
Pitzhanger is a forum for creativity, debate and participation, reanimating Sir John Soane’s vision to inspire and enrich our communities with art, architecture and design. Our vision is that we believe culture matters for all people. Pitzhanger initiates exceptional creative encounters for everyone, empowering expression, inspiring discovery and enriching our community. As well as the historic manor and galleries, visitors can enjoy our café and shop, as well as the superb historic garden of the manor - what is today Walpole Park.
