All artworks are relatively incomplete, as they are never able to transcend the beauty of the Divine. According to Plato, this philosophy inspired artists from the Renaissance forward to deliberately leave their work non finito, or unfinished, as an homage to the unattainable perfection of heaven. As Michelangelo once said, "The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection.”

NonFinito Gallery in South Street Seaport honors its namesake concept through continuous exhibitions and immersive installations.  The gallery provides a space for emerging artists of all backgrounds to showcase their work, as they explore their personal boundaries with what it means to be finito.

The two-floor, 3,200 square foot space sits directly on the South Street Seaport waterfront. Located in a landmark building dating back to the late 1800's, NonFinito is proud to be the first ever gallery in the Seaport.
