NoD Gallery

Galerie NoD has focused its activity on a systematic presentation of the most innovative and experimental trends in contemporary visual art. The gallery´s curatorial vision is centered around the reflection of the various options opening up on the planes of form and content in the media of painting and drawing as well as those of object art, photography, monumental art forms, installation and video art, striving to contribute its own share in exploring their capacity to project a wide range of social, anthropological and political issues. The gallery´s exhibition programme draws substantially on individual artists´ own original projects, and in the process combines artistic quest with scholarly art-historical expertise with a view to encouraging interdisciplinary co-operation, with due emphasis on the authenticity of creative approaches and taking into account a specific aesthetic of display corresponding with the character of the gallery´s exhibition space. The gallery has been working primarily with members of the up-and-coming young generation of artists instrumental in invigorating the current Czech art scene. The generational makeup of artists represented by and working with the gallery is complemented by the involvement in its exhibition programme of some of the leading figures of Czech art at the turn of the 21st century who have continued to this day to participate in the shaping of current artistic idioms and approaches relevant to both development of both Czech and international art.

Galerie NoD has been endeavouring to further stimulate the Czech art scene by encouraging co-operation with various institutions on the international level, participation in art fairs, representing select members of the youngest generation of artists, and organizing art auctions.
