In 1992, the first and so far only museum in Germany opened in Ingolstadt, which is dedicated exclusively to Concrete Art. It was on the collection of the writer and founder of the concrete poetry Eugen Gomringer (*1925). It contains important works by numerous renowned representatives of Concrete Art such as Josef Albers, Max Bill or Verena Loewensberg. In the last 30 years, the museum collection has been constantly expanded and also supplemented by a focus in design.

The museum is currently presenting temporary exhibitions dedicated to its own collections and new positions. The MKK is already enlightening the limits of concrete art. As with the exhibition “Martin Creed – I don’t know what art is.” The work certainly shows parallels to concrete art and poetry, but cannot be understood as such.
