In 2002, Paranaense settled in its current headquarters. In São Francisco, in addition to the historic palace, the museum has two annexes. The total area is 4,700m2 with spaces for temporary and long-term exhibitions; and laboratory, auditorium, library and three technical reserves. More than 500,000 pieces came from acquisitions and donations. The former Coronel David Carneiro Museum and archaeological collections listed by IPHAN (Institute of National Historic and Artistic Heritage) stand out. Also noteworthy are the collections of João Américo Peret, Telêmaco Borba, Günther Tessmann, Wanda Hanke and Vladimir Kozák, which, given its importance, became part of the UNESCO Memory of the World program.

In 2019, the 143 years of the Museu Paranaense are celebrated with the “Ephemera/Perpetua” collection exhibition, the “Sign of the Times” campaign and the update of its communication, also becoming known as MUPA.
