Messum’s has long held a powerful reputation as one of the country’s leading British art galleries, not only a pioneer in the field of British Impressionism and the Newlyn and St Ives Schools, but also a specialist in exhibiting contemporary British art.

Founded by David Messum in 1963, the gallery has been established in Cork Street since 1993, and has played a pivotal role in Cork Street’s long-standing reputation as a centre for the British art trade. Cork Street Is now being re-developed and re-launched to bring exciting new results as the hub of London’s art world, with Messum’s at its heart.

The Cork Street gallery is the focus for Messum’s Contemporary art exhibitions. With around a dozen shows annually, the gallery provides a wide-ranging programme, with each show supported by a fully-illustrated catalogue, as well as on-line exhibitions.

Messum’s also has associations with many international galleries, allowing us to promote British art internationally in such places as New York, New England, Toronto, and Melbourne.
