In spring 2010 the RED GALLERY launched on site behind the Foundry in Shoreditch as a pop gallery and events space with a projected three month life span. It was due to be demolished that summer to make way for the Art ?Otel. True to market form, the hotel project ground to a halt and the RED GALLERY continues to host a series of notable art and music events.

In April of this year a chance meeting and short lived collaboration with LE GUN took Material to the hub of Shoreditch where they curated a print and bookshop at the Close Eyes to Exit exhibition at the Red Gallery. Due to the success of the exhibition, The Red Gallery invited Material to stay and thus came the amalgamation of the two entities in which Material will take the reigns in curating a retail avenue within the visual arts space.

The RED PROJECT is an ongoing initiative aimed at regenerating empty buildings with cultural events, and by doing so help to regenerate their local areas based at RED GALLERY
