Visit the newly opened Claridge’s ArtSpace Café for a display of works by British-based artist and ceramicist Martha Freud. Freud began her eponymous studio in 2008 and, known for the humorous slogans that she embeds into her creations; the delicately constructed ceramics balance a uniquely fragile beauty with her own touch of playful irreverence. Plates, bowls, and candles adorned with word play walk the line between tongue-in-cheek phrasing and philosophical reflection – from naughty quips to earnest protest.

Claridge’s ArtSpace Café sits above the iconic Claridge’s ArtSpace on Brook’s Mews, engineered by Jim Mackey and designed by British-architect John Pawson. This installation is curated by The Wick - your passport into the artworld. The Wick is a diverse content platform bringing together a community of culturally curious taste makers and experts sharing passions for the visual arts and design worlds – on a mission to connect, inspire and educate.
