Lever Gallery is a commercial art gallery with a focus on post-war lifestyle illustration. We also host exhibitions of modern figurative and abstract art.

Post war British culture was propelled into the modern era by a group of young visual revolutionaries who transformed the face of music, art, fashion, film, television, advertising, newspapers and magazines, to define the look of a generation. Artists represented by the gallery include the masters of the form in the 60s - Michael Johnson, Renato Fratini, Walter Wyles - as well as leading next generation illustrators - Mick Brownfield and Paul Slater.

The gallery has a passion for the work it represents. Unlike in the US where the work of illustrators of this era is acclaimed by a loyal and sophisticated following, and where iconic works now command significant sums, lifestyle illustration is something of a forgotten art form in the UK.  Sadly, much of the original work is lost or has disappeared and surviving work is in urgent need of preserving. Many of the illustrators and art directors themselves are well into their 70s and 80s and the LEVER GALLERY is on a mission to ensure they receive the recognition they deserve.

Lever Gallery hosts solo and joint exhibitions of exciting modern figurative and abstract art where the gallery believes the quality of the work deserves the platform and exposure it can provide.

Lever Gallery is on Goswell Road, a centre of high tech, commerce and culture. Clerkenwell, the City, Silicon Roundabout, the Barbican and Sadler’s Wells all a short walk away.

The gallery stages regular exhibitions and events open to the public.

Converted from an old bank the bespoke exhibition & work space was designed by RIBA award winning architect Pascal Madoc-Jones.

This gallery is grateful to Julia Martin-Wright, Nina Berkowitz, Mike DempseyMain TitlesShowhowLisa Baker LtdMadoc Architecture and Alan Williams for their continuing help and support.
