On the fourth floor of the KKL Luzern, an area of 2000 square metres is given over to the Museum of Art Lucerne and its collection of contemporary art. With its temporary exhibitions of national and international artists, it is regarded as one of the most important museums in Switzerland.
The Museum of Art Lucerne is always worth a visit, thanks to its constantly changing exhibitions. Jean Nouvel’s architecture gives the national and international exhibitions enough room to work their magic. The intention was to prioritise the art and so it was for this reason that the design of the space is intentionally neutral. In this context, Nouvel speaks of the “nudité des espaces” (nudity of space).
