Kunst Am Spreeknie is a Berlin-based festival founded in 2007. It is located on the southeastern banks of the river Spree, in the area of Schoeneweide, right in the heart of Europe’s longest industrial park (AEG-Stadt). The mission of the festival is to highlight the changes in the fields of fine and applied arts, within the framework of the digital revolution, which has been reshaping the environment, the social forms and also our subjectivity. The objective is to search for unique artistic practices, introduce new languages and promote contemporary art in the urban context. Also, the festival aims to motivate local producers, artists, designers, musicians and architects to develop creative activities and cultural events. Kunst Am Spreeknie is organized by WBB e.V (Werkstatt Fur Bildung und Begegnung in Berlin e.V), a group of artists living and working in Schöneweide and the friendly support of the municipality of Treptow-Köpenick (Fachbereich Kultur).
