On the 10th of August 2020, Invisible Kultur invites Rikard Olsen to exhibit his expressionist and abstract art in a warm and cosy environment.

For the past two years, Rikard has gone from working with murals in a public environment to transferring his work to a smaller medium, such as drawings but also canvases. It feels like a reversed process. Murals are often about making a small sketch for large-scale paintings, whilst what he does now is working from large scale to a smaller scale.

In his drawings and paintings, Rikard wants to break down different elements of traditional graffiti with letters in a row to have a more free play with shape and color, the letters become indistinct and it feels like they just mimic words. Thoughtless scribble with shapes that twist and are angular and hard with attitude but at the same time naive and playful. Rikard often finds inspiration in comics, toilet graffiti and common utensils, but also in various mediums such as oil pastels and brand chalk. It is a composition based on what he sees in everyday life.

Join us for an evening full of art where you can also purchase the artworks exhibited.

The event includes a free tasting of Le Tribute Gin.
