A Czech graphic art gallery with tradition dating from 1917.

The HOLLAR Association of Czech Graphic Artists, which owns the gallery, was founded in 1917. The association called itself after the most famous engraver, Václav Hollar (1607-1677). The founding members were mostly students of Max Švabinský, who from 1910 headed the special department of graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Members of the association are recruited from professional artists based on the most demanding artistic criteria. The activity of the HOLLAR Association of Czech Graphic Artists was banned by the communist regime between 1972 and 1989, and was restored after November 1989. Over the past decades, HOLLAR members have included a number of leading Czech artists such as Max Švabinský, Vojtěch Preissig, František Kupka, František Bílek, T.F. Šimon, František Kobliha, Emil Filla, Josef Lada, Jan Zrzavý, Josef Šíma, Bohuslav Reynek, František Tichý, Vladimír Silovský, Karel Svolinský, Cyril Bouda, František Gross, Kamil Lhoták, Zdeněk Sklenář, Jiří Trnka, Jiří John, and Zdenek Seydl. HOLLAR currently consists of 163 members, 138 of whom are graphic artists, 10 theoreticians and 15 printers and active members. The HOLLAR Gallery presents the work of its members at regular solo and group exhibitions. A wide selection of contemporary graphic art is kept at gallery for purchasers to view. There is a various supply of pieces of graphic art for sale by all members of the HOLLAR Association - the distinguished Czech graphic artists.
