Highlight Art is a contemporary art space located at 72 Club St, exhibiting artworks by Asian artists. The upcoming exhibition 'Re-Encounter' is a solo exhibition of artist Guo Gong.
Re-Encounter is a new milestone for artist Guo Gong as he exhibits his works from the series for the first time in Singapore. 'Qie Wen' is a long-term project for artist Guo Gong. Since 2017, Guo has focused his practice on using materials such as stainless steel, stone, and wood. To the artist, this series of works has complex semantics, it looks at the dilatant nature of Chinese characters, but also addresses the simplicity of it being words of a modern language. Guo Gong’s art displaces its concepts from the zeitgeist and acknowledges the artist’s discreet, private meaning.
The exhibition will run from 19 Jan to 18 Feb 2024. Admission is free and open to public.
