Harlan Levey Projects (HLP) was co-founded by Winnie Kwok and Harlan Levey in Brussels in 2013. Originally a project space for cross-disciplinary dialogue, the gallery now focuses on supporting ambitious conceptual and research-based artistic practices that explore social, scientific, and technological questions.

HLP presents no more than five exhibitions per year, taking a deliberately slow approach that allows for sustained engagement and reflection. Beyond its exhibition program, the gallery fosters knowledge production and exchange through residencies, lectures, and workshops. HLP’s activities are further extended through initiatives such as Fundamental Research, which HLP co-founded with Dr. Beatrice de Gelder in 2021, and the curatorial project Chambre d’Amis, held four times per year in the United States and Europe.

HLP has played a key role in the Belgian art ecosystem through Brussels Gallery Weekend, where Harlan Levey served on the executive committee, and Art Brussels, where he acted as advisor and later committee member. He has also taught at HISK, Ghent, and the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht, and served as an expert for the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS program.

Artists represented by HLP are included in major collections, including MoMA, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Cleveland Museum of Art; the Dallas Museum of Art; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo; Kunsthaus Zürich; S.M.A.K., Ghent; M HKA, Antwerp; Kanal – Centre Pompidou, Brussels; the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels; the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; and numerous regional, university, library, and corporate collections.
