Bird after Bird

Gallery Steel Rooms
Brigg, United Kingdom
Monday - Saturday, 9am - 5pm
Gallery Steel Rooms shows the work of contemporary artists, poets and composers who care about our world; how we see it, live in it, use it. Our interdisciplinary programme operates around notions of landscape and place and seeks to engage with our regional, national and worldwide environments through projects and events which both inform and excite.
Projects for 2018 include Bird after Bird, in partnership with GroundWork Gallery, King’s Lynn and working with the RSPB and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust; A Case for Place in partnership with the creative practice-led research group, Land2; Dwelling with sculptor Anna Gillespie in preparation for a 2019 project working with the Woodlands Trust.
GSR is based in the historic market town of Brigg, inhabiting the wonderful 2nd floor space of The Steel Rooms, with a thriving workshop and café scene. Opened in 2012 by director Julie Steel, GSR has since September 2017 established a notable exhibition programme informed by subjects relating to landscape and place and managed by curator Linda Ingham.
GSR also includes The Case Gallery, providing opportunities for early career, regional and local artists through a programme of open calls and professional development projects.
