Gallery Plus is a contemporary art business in Wells-next-the-Sea on the beautiful north Norfolk Coast.

The gallery boasts unrivalled natural light and offers a unique browsing and buying experience in a refreshingly open, bright and airy exhibition space.

“We love colour – it’s good for the soul! – so the gallery is a colourful and uplifting place to visit.”

There is a high quality on-going mixed show of original paintings, original prints, ceramics, glassware, sculpture, and jewellery by popular artists and makers from around the country, as well as one-man exhibitions.

Artwork in the gallery includes: linocuts by respected local artist HJ Jackson, who recently celebrated 60 years of printmaking; hand-coloured etchings by Graham Clarke, one of Britain's most popular and best-selling printmakers; landscapes that reflect the changing light and seasons by East Anglian artist Paul Evans; and dramatic, atmospheric etchings by Anja Percival. Ceramics include colourful and unique vessels by Sophie Southgate, who takes inspiration from the landscape, paring it back to abstract interpretations of space through basic geometric forms. There is glassware by Adam Hussain, whose award-winning collections use both transparent and opaque glass to explore the effects of the transmitted and reflective light; and blown glass vessels by Laura Birdsall, who creates vibrant and translucent objects that change with natural light through the day. There are also garden sculptures – cow parsley, bulrushes, and poppy pods - by popular local blacksmith Toby Winterbourn, whose work has been featured on the BBC. Many more artists and makers are represented too, and the exhibition space is regularly updated, so you're sure to see something new every time you visit.

Gallery Plus is also home to the permanent Open Studio of local contemporary artist Trevor Woods. Visitors are always intrigued to watch Trevor painting; they can see the processes he uses from the drawing out stage, right through to the final finishing touches.

There is a professional picture framing service on site, with a wide choice of mouldings. Expert advice and guidance is freely given to help you choose the right frame for your requirements.

“We pride ourselves on our friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere, with an unpressured approach, which has proved popular with our returning customers.”
