Galleria Gentili was founded in Florence, Italy in 1991 by Paolo Gentili and Giulietta Innocenti. The gallery gained its national and international reputation by first showing the works of Pier Paolo Calzolari, Enrico Castellani, Ignacio Uriarte, Heimo Zobernig, Carlo Guaita, Massimo Bartolini, Jaume Plensa and Sol LeWitt. In 2007, Galleria Gentili moved to a former textile factory in Prato, Italy just outside Florence, which was soon transformed into an international exhibition space featuring both solo and group shows of contemporary artists. In 2016 Galleria Gentili moved back to Florence to be hosted in a historical building, Ximènes-Panciatichi House. Recent exhibitions have included the works of Olaf Metzel, Heimo Zobernig, Carlo Guaita, Sol LeWitt, Ignacio Uriarte, Heinz Mack, Luciano Bartolini and Vanessa Billy among others.
