FUNDACIÓN ALORDA-DERKSEN, or AD, stems from a passion for all facets of art, and in particular for international contemporary avant-garde.

This interest is shared by the entire ALORDA-DERKSEN family, headed by Manuel Alorda and Hanneke Derksen, who began collecting works of art of a varying nature in 1966. The foundation has just put out two magnificent books, “PLATERÍA DE LOS SIGLOS XIV-XVIII” (14th-18th Century Silverwork), by Cristina Esteras Martín, and “MARCOS DE LOS SIGLOS XVI-XVIII” (16th-18th Century Picture Frames), by Horacio Pérez Hita.

A passion for CONTEMPORARY ART runs in the family. It is the calling of Manuel and Hanneke, as well as of their four children, who administer the outstanding international collection which comprises this new private foundation.

The aim of this foundation is to promote interest in and knowledge of international contemporary art in Barcelona, providing the city with a new point of international reference for this medium.

Thanks to the contributions of Kettal, the foundation is able to show international art in the very heart of the city.
