Fabian & Claude Walter

Fabian and Claude Walter opened their gallery in Basel on 20 March 1986. In 2002, they relocated to Zürich to the Löwenbräu art complex. Recently, in January 2013, the gallery moved to new premises at the centre of Zurich, between Kunsthaus and Bellevueplatz, at Rämistrasse 18.

The gallery programme on the one hand explores the boundaries of a conceptually based figurative art after 1980, with a special focus placed on photography and painting, while on the other hand it offers themed exhibition projects highlighting important trends and tendencies in art after 1945.

Parallel to the exhibitions in the main show room, the gallery has created a new form of exhibition titled Cabinet, in the context of which select groups of works are presented by artists after 1945.

So far, the gallery has staged over 180 solo and group shows, published catalogues and participated in international art fairs.

For over 20 years, Fabian & Claude Walter have been active as art consultants advising nationally and internationally active companies and collections on questions relating to the integration of art into existing buildings or buildings still under construction. They realise and organise architectural art projects and assist their clients in building up, developing and managing art collections.
