Edinburgh Printmakers is a creative hub for printmaking and the visual arts in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. It has a large light-filled printmaking studio running courses and workshops, two galleries, a shop selling original prints and handmade products, venue hire space for meetings, events or learning activities, a café, a courtyard, and community garden.

The printmaking studio is open to anyone who would like to join one of our courses or become a member. It was established in 1967 as the first open-access studio in Britain and is one of the largest in Europe. Set in Castle Mills, a beautiful heritage building that used to be a rubber factory and brewery complex, Edinburgh Printmakers provides a creative atmosphere for the local community as well as visitors.

Our mission is to create and support artistic excellence in the medium of print through inspiration, education, innovation and facilitation. We work at the cutting edge of contemporary visual art, producing critically acclaimed and engaging artwork that is key to the cultural life of Scotland. Hosting year-round programme of exhibitions and associated events, Edinburgh Printmakers showcases the work of leading international and Scottish artists.
