Downstairs at The Department Store is a flexible, blank canvas event space on the lower ground floor of the Department Store with 407m2, which can accommodate up to 220 standing guests or 120 seated.
The building is also home to Upstairs at The Department Store, a restaurant, bar and roof terrace on the fourth floor. Located in the creative and vibrant district of Brixton and just a 3-minute walk from Brixton station, we are able to produce your event from start to finish.
The Department Store was originally built as an Edwardian annexe to The Bon Marché, the first purpose built department store in the UK. The building had lain derelict for many years but has recently been restored, refurbished and extended by architects Squire and Partners who have their offices on the first, second and third floors.
