About

There are collected paintings, sculptures, silvers, and liturgical vestments that not only document a journey of the artistic history of the Diocese, with particular reference to the city, but also testify to the role played by the Church in the life of the community of believers. The paintings cover a period of time ranging from the end of the 15th century to the end of the 18th century. From the Venetian table with the Madonna del Carmine to the Madonna del Rosario by the Lecce painter Oronzo Tiso. Thus it is possible to encounter the truth of the testimony of the faith of St. Ursula in the great altarpiece by Paolo Finoglio or the painting Pasce oves meas, a probable work by N. Poussin. The exhibition is enriched by the presence of sculptures and silvers that in most are those that constituted the liturgical treasure of the Cathedral of Lecce, especially between the '600 and the'
