The Vanna Migliorin COMEL Award – Contemporary Art (hereinafter COMEL Award), was established in 2012 and was turned into a European competition in 201. The competition originated in Latina, Italy, in memory of the local entrepreneur Vanna, whose most heartfelt goals were to support artists and to promote of Art.

The peculiarity of the prize is that participants have to submit works in aluminum (or where this metal is prevalent) of a non-industrial format.

The COMEL Award - Contemporary Art wants to draw attention to the expressive, aesthetic, communicative and constructive possibilities of aluminum, strengthens the relationship between business and contemporary art, creates a vital and significant synergy between the public and artists, promotes intercultural relations among European countries.

Participation in the competition is free and open to all artists, 18 years of age and older, that operate in any of the European countries, and use aluminum as the main and significant medium for the realization of the work to be submitted. Released or unreleased artworks using the following techniques may be submitted: painting, sculpture, design, photography and installation.

The Sinuosity of Aluminum is the theme of this edition. Sinuosity is a feature that represents the properties of ductility and malleability of the metal, which is the material of choice for the works that will be submitted. Sinuosity also means elegance, which is intrinsic to the artistic elaboration and is a sign of the plasticity that can be granted by the aluminum.

The winner chosen by the Jury will receive 3500 euros and will be granted a solo exhibition and the publication of a catalog. You can register for the prize from March 15 to June 15, 2017 following the instructions on the site www.premiocomel.it
