Cody Dock was formerly an area of industrial wasteland on the banks of the River Lea. Thanks to the efforts of over 6,000 volunteers, and the charity Gasworks Dock Partnership, it has been transformed over the last six years into an oasis of landscaped gardens, a vibrant cultural quarter and a community hub, opening up access to the Lower Lea River. It is a space where people can explore the waterways, the area's diverse ecology and learn more about its fascinating industrial heritage. With support from Thames Water, the Veolia Environmental Trust, Kew Gardens, the Royal Horticultural Society, Newham Council and the Big Lottery, Cody Dock has established itself as a flagship vehicle for community-led regeneration.
