The Coalmine fosters cross-genre look at the visual culture of the present. Housed in a former coal cellar of the house was built in 1905 Volkart in Winterthur, the Coalmine now houses instead of coal energy cultural fabric:

  • The forum for documentary photography and the space for contemporary photography as a platform for the works of emerging Swiss and international photographers and photographers. We show exhibitions all year round with high artistic and often socio-political claim.
  • The documentary film as an agent of social policy relevant issues.
  • The café with a stage, literary treasures such as the Suhrkamp total output and the palate à la carte.
  • Readings of literary association Winterthur and live talk shows from StadTalk complete the Coalmine event program.

The Coalmine offers itself as an attractive location for your events. Interested? Information gladly Natalie Horn under Tel. 052 268 68 82, or via bar@coalmine.ch
