Centro Cultural San Clemente

The San Clemente Cultural Center, dependent on the Provincial Council of Toledo, is located in the Plaza de Padilla, in the historic center of the city of Toledo. Its premises occupy a part of the Imperial Monastery of San Clemente founded in the 12th century for a Cistercian female community in the vicinity of the city, later moved to this area of ​​the old parish of San Román in the 13th century by the will of King Alfonso It was then that an important growth process began that led it to incorporate important urban palaces that are still partially preserved inside.

In an agreement reached with the Order and the carrying out of an important rehabilitation project has made it possible to provide new uses to the facilities, as important exhibitions by international contemporary artists.
