Centre d'Art Contemporain de Nîmes
Nîmes, France
The Art Centre helps to support artistic creation, the promotion of artists and the diffusion of contemporary art, whether at local, regional, national or international level. It developes different forms of activities, such as : exhibitions, publications, artistic events, performances, projections, conferences, etc.
An important aspect of the center’s ethos is the way we present, articulate and guide our tours, adapting to school groups, pensioners, day camps, people with disabilities, professionals, and other associations. In the interest of hospitality and within the framework of cultural rights, our interactions with visitors aim to be humane, healthy, caring, educational, and pedagogical, prioritizing exchange. The art center, through its location and outreach beyond its walls, represents a new, sustainable, and high-quality cultural offering for the region.
The CACN – Contemporary Art Centre of Nîmes was founded by Bertrand Riou and inaugurated in 2017, in an old ironworks located close to the town center. After a period of roaming France throughout 2020, in 2021 the activities of the Art Centre is now permanently installed in a municipal building located in the Pissevin-Valdegour district, 4 Place Roger Bastide in Nîmes.
