The Center for Contemporary Culture of Castelo Branco ( CCCCB ), supervised by the City Council, aims to promote and disseminate contemporary culture, stimulate artistic creation, work to create and train new audiences.
The CCCCB is housed in a building by the Catalan architect Josep Lluis Mateo, in collaboration with the Portuguese architect Carlos Reis de Figueiredo, and is located in Campo Mártires da Pátria (Devesa), the center of the city, a place of meeting and leisure, In the vicinity of other cultural facilities, such as Cine-Teatro Avenida and the Municipal Library.
With a strong architectural presence, is a hollow building, coated metal and wood, with 4 floors ( floor -1 Entry / Reception / Expository Area / Support Services) ( Level 0 Rink Synthetic Ice), ( 1st Floor Area Auditorium / Chamber Music Auditorium ), ( Floor 2 Exhibition Area / Auditorium Music Chamber / Cafeteria).
The Auditorium has 275 seats and is equipped with an acoustic system of superior quality, without the use of amplification systems , by the Catalan specialist Higini Arau.
