Balcony Contemporary Art Gallery

Balcony Contemporary Art Gallery was established in 2017 and added a new reference point to the art map of the city of Lisbon. The gallery is located in Alvalade district and converted an old store of “Edifício América”, a Portuguese modernist awarded building, into a generous exhibition space, organized on two floors that allow different circuits and exhibition areas.

The gallery is focused on working and exhibiting emerging artists, Portuguese and foreign, both in Portugal and abroad. Its programme highlights debut solo shows by young artists, the introduction of new names in dialogue with represented artists and projects developed in collaboration with curators and other cultural agents.

Balcony’s growing participation in international art fairs and investment in the promotion of exhibition projects, inside and outside the gallery, has been promoting the growth of its artists, supporting and working consecutively on interdisciplinary projects.
